As a young girl, the anticipation of marriage often consumes our thoughts, not necessarily because we solely aspire to be married, but due to societal expectations and inquiries from those around us. Amidst this impersonal dream shared by many, lies a sweet excitement – the vision of draping a saree and imagining the radiant reflection in the mirror.
Life inevitably unfolds with the progression of school, college, career pursuits, and more. However, my personal journey led me to the enchanting city of Kashi, the city of lights, where I experienced the magic of marriage draped in a resplendent red Banarasi silk saree. This rekindled the childhood love affair with sarees, prompting me to ponder: why confine this beautiful tradition to India alone? Why not share the joy of hand-woven masterpieces with women worldwide?

The inception of Zariveda is rooted in a deep love for sarees that I’ve nurtured since childhood. Sarees fascinate me and bring out my most creative self, allowing me to express an inherent passion that words alone cannot capture. I’d like to share a short story about how Zariveda came to be.
As little girls, many of us dream about our weddings, not merely because of the concept of marriage itself, but often due to societal expectations and the constant questions about our future. This dream, often shaped by those around us, holds a unique charm—the vision of draping a saree for the first time, imagining how beautiful and graceful we’d look.
Life went on, filled with school, college, and the beginning of a career. However, the dream lingered in the back of my mind. When I eventually got married in Kashi, the city of lights, this dream was brought to life. Draped in a bright red Banarasi silk saree, I felt the same childhood excitement and fascination rekindled. This experience ignited a realization: why limit this beautiful, hand-woven masterpiece to just India? Why not share the exquisite artistry of our small-town weavers with the world?
